Glenorchy Jobs Hub has helped find employment for their 100th job seeker. Timothy (Tim) had been made redundant, putting him in the challenging position of seeking out employment. Having been employed for several years, he needed to update his resume and learn new application approaches.
Shortly into his job search, Tim met with Glenorchy Jobs Hub Staff to evaluate his situation. Hub staff worked with Tim to determine the type of role that he wanted, and the best ways to help him find it. Eventually, Hub staff found a position available with Spotlight Glenorchy, which suited Tim’s situation perfectly.
Tim is overjoyed with the support that he received.
“It felt stressful going into the new year not knowing what the job prospects would be like for me with our store closure. But signing up to the Glenorchy Jobs Hub was one of the best decisions I could have made. It facilitated me finding employment and helped guide me through the process,” said Tim.
Hubs coach Corey Mika was pleased to have helped Tim.
“I am always happy to help clients like Tim. I find those that come into the Hub, have a chat and are determined to find work really benefit from this structure, and make the most out of it,” said Corey.
The Glenorchy Jobs Hub is supported by a $1.3 million grant from the Tasmanian Government, as part of Jobs Tasmania’s Regional Jobs Hub Network. Glenorchy Jobs Hub is a not-for-profit initiative run by Glenorchy City Council in partnership with STEPS Group Australia.
