After last year’s immense success, the Glenorchy Jobs Hub, in co-partnership with the Tasmanian Government and Workforce Australia Local Jobs, will be hosting the Glenorchy Jobs Fair 2023, on 21 March, from 11 am – 4:30 pm, at Glenorchy Council Lawns.
Last year’s event saw 30 local businesses and over 1,200 job seekers in attendance. The event provided opportunities to meet, question and apply for roles with attending businesses resulting in multiple local jobs being filled.
This year the Glenorchy Jobs Hub team have worked tirelessly with the Tasmanian Government and Workforce Australia Local Jobs to secure funding and find employment and training opportunities for eventgoers and ensure a good variety of businesses and industries.
Employment Facilitator for Hobart and Southern Tasmania Nick Probert is thrilled to partner with the Glenorchy Jobs Hub to run this event.
“Workforce Australia Local Jobs are delighted to support the Glenorchy Jobs Hub to stage the 2023 Glenorchy Jobs Fair. The beauty of the jobs fair is its simplicity, as it links job seekers to employers who are looking to fill vacancies straight away. It is going to be a magnificent event and we encourage anyone looking for work to attend,” Nick Probert said.
Glenorchy’s Mayor Thomas is delighted to be hosting the Glenorchy Jobs Fair for the second year.
“This is the second year the Glenorchy Jobs Fair has run. We are excited to be supporting job seekers to connect with local employers. We know last year was a remarkable success, with over 1,200 jobseekers attending.
We look forward to welcoming the community again,’ Mayor Bec Thomas said.
STEPS Group Australia’s Chief Executive Officer, Luke Henderson, is also excited about the event.
“This is a fantastic opportunity for those seeking work (or needing a change) to meet, participate, and communicate directly with employers. Along with being an opportunity for attending employers to meet and engage with the greater community,” Luke Henderson said.
“Projects like this show the passion and dedication of our Hub team. We encourage anyone attending to review your resume, print copies and take advantage of available employment opportunities.”
The Tasmanian Government and Workforce Australia Local Jobs have funded the Glenorchy Jobs Fair 2023. This event offers opportunities for Tasmanian Job Seekers to meet with local employers and fill jobs available within the Glenorchy Local Government Area.
The Glenorchy Jobs Hub is part of the Tasmanian Government’s Regional Jobs Hub Network, connecting local people with local jobs in the municipality of Glenorchy. With a community focus and commitment to helping job seekers and local employers. Jobs Tasmania, Glenorchy City Council, and STEPS Group Australia support the Glenorchy Jobs Hub.
